Black Hawk Creek Saddle Club

Black Hawk Creek Saddle Club exists to provide members and others interested in horses an opportunity to show and to participate in trail rides and other social events throughout the year.

All shows are held during the summer months at the Silver Spur Saddle Shop 3574 W. Shaulis Road, Waterloo, Iowa 50701

The purpose of our shows is to provide local level opportunities for youth, 4-H members and non-pro adults.

We offer timed events, halter, showmanship, trail, and Western and English performance classes. Emphasis is on fun and sportsmanship.

Membership in BHCSC for 2009 is $15.00 per year for a single membership or $20.00 per year for family.

15 year old Andrea Schrage, a freshman student at North Butler High was awarded the coveted Youth Horsemanship Buckle at the Black Hawk Creek Saddle Club Show, June 27. For many years a large, engraved buckle has been donated by Craig and Terri Strein of the Silver Spur Saddle Shop. Handing Andrea her new hardware is Dave Sweeney, of Iowa Falls, saddle club board member and ringman at the show.

Participants may use the arena to warm up during the hour prior to each show.
